The IUP men's basketball team will host its third annual Alumni Basketball Golf Outing on Friday, September 19 at the Indiana Country Club with honored guest Chuck Daly. Daly was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994 and three years later was selected one of the 10 greatest coaches in NBA history as part of the league's 50th anniversary celebration. He won 638 games in a 14-year NBA career and won titles with the Detroit Pistons in 1989 and 1990. In addition to his illustrious NBA career, Daly was the head coach of the original Dream Team that won the gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He is a Pennsylvania native and got his coach start at Punxsutawney High School from 1955-63.
