IUP finished a two-game sweep of a weekend road trip with a 3-0 victory over Bowie State on Saturday. The Crimson Hawks defeated Bowie State by scores of 30-19, 30-20, 30-18 after taking a 30-26, 25-30, 30-14, 30-25 win at Shepherd on Friday. In its win at Bowie State, IUP (8-10) got 11 kills from Maddie Schulte and 10 from Tessa Siewert while hitting .309 as a team and producing 18 service aces. Emily McCombie had 33 assists, six aces and four kills. Laura Robinette also had six aces, Emily Pany led the defense with 11 digs and Schulte and Rambow led the Crimson Hawks with two blocks. Tessa Irwin led three IUP players in double figures in kills against Shepherd with 14. She was followed by Siewert with 13 and Schulte with 10. McCombie handed out 45 assists while serving three aces, Pany made 22 digs and Hristina Denic had 17 digs. IUP returns to PSAC West play with a match at Clarion on Tuesday. |
