IUP defeated West Chester and East Stroudsburg before losing to Shippensburg in a PSAC crossover weekend at California's Hamer Hall. The Crimson Hawks improved to 13-19 on the season with a 30-23, 31-29, 22-30, 31-29 victory over West Chester, the No. 7 team in the NCAA Atlantic Region, and a 30-27, 30-27, 30-20 triumph over East Stroudsburg. The loss to Shippensburg came by a count of 30-22, 36-34, 30-16. In the win over the Golden Rams, Tessa Siewert starred with 19 kills, five blocks, eight digs and a service ace. Maddie Schulte added 16 kills and three blocks while Tessa Irwin had nine kills and five blocks. Chelsey Kreinbrook (33) and Emily McCombie (17) combined for 50 assists, with Kreinbrook adding three blocks. Hristina Denic had 13 digs, two more than Kelsey Scheipe, and Sandy Rambow made four blocks. Irwin had 10 kills and Siewert made nine in the win over the Warriors, with Siewert registering eight blocks. McCombie had 28 assists and Emily Pany had 11 digs. Denic had eight kills, one more than Schulte, in the loss to the Raiders. Pany had 20 digs and Denic made 14 while Kreinbrook had 18 assists and McCombie handed out 10. |
